2025 Arbor Day Tree Lottery

Thank you to the people who came out on this beautiful day to celebrate Arbor Day in the Village, to help plant a new redbud, and to hear the winners of this year's Tree Lottery: Latanza Parnell, Rebecca Smith, Jim Schlidt, Renen Hicken, and Alicia Dernetz. Seventy-six residents entered this year! Special thanks to Wachtel Tree Science, Wayside Gardens, Trustee Priscilla Hightower, and Jim Farmer and Rob Guilbert for making this year's Tree Lottery possible. DPW Director Matthew Maederer and Erika Petras from the DPW did another great job this year, and thanks also to Karen Baker Mathu (working with the Milwaukee Metrolpolitan Sewagerage District) who is helping to lead this year's Brown Deer Green Summer program (contact the DPW for more information on getting a free rain barrel, establishing a green garden and many other sustainability initiatives).
